• In-house experimental center equipped with CNC, robotic, microsphere, and sand blasting machines for trial work.
• Full surface-treatment lab covering Almen intensity, residual stress, microhardness, microstructure, media, and sample preparation.
• Contract processing available for customers who need shot peening or sand blasting on their parts.
KOSHIN operates a dedicated experimental center alongside its manufacturing line, equipped with a broad range of surface-treatment machines — including CNC shot peening, robotic shot peening, microsphere peening, and sand blasting equipment. Customers can use this center to develop and validate processes on their own parts before committing to a production line of their own.
Process validation is supported by a full in-house surface-treatment lab. Standard instruments such as Almen gauges, residual stress analysers, metalloscopes, Micro Vickers hardness testers, media flow-rate calibrators, Ro-tap test sieves, metallographic grinders, and electrolytic polishing equipment make it possible to characterize media, measure intensity, examine microstructure, and quantify the effect of a treatment on real samples.
For customers who do not need or do not yet have their own surface-treatment line, KOSHIN also offers contract processing. Parts can be sent in for shot peening, sand blasting, or related surface treatment, using the same processes and the same quality controls applied in the KOSHIN experimental center. This gives smaller volumes and prototype work a clear path to qualified surface treatment without the up-front investment of a dedicated cell.
